Research Focus:

My research interests are in using soil bacteria to develop bioremediation strategies for emerging environmental contaminants. I currently study how different carbon catabolites (ie glucose) are assimilated into the major metabolic pathways of different aerobic soil bacteria under high iron and iron starved conditions. This research is a necessary precursor to understanding how bacteria biodegrade and/or assimilate different environmental contaminants.
