I am interested in the interdisciplinary of Materials Science, Chemistry and Biology, especially the development of novel biomaterials for biological applications such as therapy, diagnose and imaging. I am currently working on the novel cell encapsulation devices for cell therapy, especially the encapsulation of islets for Type I diabetes treatment. Furthermore, I am also interested in the DNA materials, from the perspective that not only considering DNA as a genetic material but also a generic materials. I believe due to the unique characteristics of DNA, there will be more great promising applications.
My previous research works involved novel inorganic bionanomaterials with applications including drug delivery and fluorescent imaging.
