Join the New York State Water Resources Institute (WRI) to perform research and outreach related to water resource issues critical to New York’s environment. See https://wri.cals.cornell.edu/people/intern-program for more information on this WRI internship program, and to learn about the exciting projects WRI undertakes. Unique intern projects are developed each summer and generally deal with issues such as sustainable water infrastructure, watershed resiliency to climate change and extreme precipitation, and water resource governance. Internships involve one or more of the following: data collection, laboratory analysis, statistical and computer modeling, and generation of reports and educational outreach materials. Throughout the summer session, WRI staff organize a series of field trips to locations such as the Cornell University water filtration facility meant to highlight important aspects of water resources. Congratulations to BE Senior Sarah Nadeau, who has been selected to receive the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence. Sarah is an undergraduate researcher in Professor Todd Walter's lab where she has worked on projects on road salt impacts on the environment and landscape patterns of denitrification genes. She is advised by Professor Mike Timmons. Sarah will be attending the awards ceremony in Albany. Read more
